As i said in the earlier post, I shall be covering major portions on information about the The Indian Civil Services. Friends, everything is available on the Internet. Where we lack, including myself, is that we often get lost in the plethora of results fetched on our screens everytime we google or bing!! So I thought it would be best to provide the best links for each information. Here I go:
Popularly known by its acronym ICS, it originated as the elite civil service of the Indian Government under British colonial rule in India, and continues in the contemporary Civil Services of India, though these are now organised differently. A civil servant is the highest post directly appointed by the Indian Govt. IAS exam has earned the reputation of being the toughest exam of India. I guess you have discovered that already! Every year lakhs of aspirants take the exam and only 800-900 are able to make it through! After one clears the 3 levels mentioned above, he/she is given rigorous training at the LBSNAA (Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration), Mussorie of 101 days.
Where do we start?
Stage 1: Read ..no.. 'Be Thorough' with all NCERT books from std 6th to 12th of all subjects
Stage 2: Be committed to reading one Hindi and one English newspaper daily. Nothing like-"aaj miss ho gaya"..well read it 5 days later but read it
Stage 3: one competitive magazine
