Anna Hazar..-dous???

Let me begin by plainly stating the fact that m not here to take any sides. Undoubtedly , the Govt is acting like a total douche bag with its undemocratic and illogical means to handle the movement which has now gone viral. Also, on the other hand, Anna fever (or anti corruption fever??) that pervades us is not totally genuine, either...

I receive 10 Support Anna Hazare invitations on FB per day, half of my friends have Anna as their display picture, if I reject an RSVP to the candle march at Jaipur, I invite flak.

My concern is rooted not in the "differences between versions of lokpal", rather in the psychology behind the movement which has drooled out scores of ppl on streets. India is a country where a snake charmer can attract a crowd of 50, no wonder we have 50 crore ppl out on streets.. But who are these people wearing really cool white T-shirts?? Do they support Anna? or do they support anti corruption crusade?? or are they the helpless victims of typical Indian nature of jumping up and down every time the II law of Thermodynamics(prefer disorder) shows up?? In Jaipur itself i met some 50 people sporting Che Guevara T shirts..ask them who was he or what did he do-DUMB!!

We all must support Anna Hazare and every anti-corruption crusader now and in the future but only if we understand what exactly they are fighting for.

Yes this government clearly didn't know how to handle things on August 16th 2011. May be they thought they would do a Baba Ramdev on Anna and he too might jump off the stage and dress like a woman and try to vanish in the crowd but clearly, he is a man of wisdom and experience.
People who are staunch supporters of "India is Anna and Anna is India",go to india_against_corruption's website. Download the publicity material. Read the attached ppt and pdf files. Analyze the bill and be aware of its pros and cons and don't just support a movement because it's cool.
Somewhere down the line, Manmohan Singh must have a reason for not letting the Bill being shoved down his neck.. Chidambaram and Sibbal are total jerks but even they would give their metel some jerk before losing all popular support just to block Anna's perfect and just cause..

Anna Hazare is a freaking awesome septuagenarian who dared to raise his voice against corruption. But, we as netizens and citizens need to understand the change we are willing to be a part of.. Neither the Jan Lokpal nor the Lokpal is perfect.. Nothing was ever meant to be.. InshaAllah we succeed in reducing corruption and bring in a solid Ombudsman Bill that promises to weed out all holigants from our bureaucracy but do we really need to turn so hostile against the Govt machinery so as to rule out even an iota of possibility that there might be something wrong with the "my-way-or-i-die" theme??
